Electrician Helper

Job Description

$18–$20/hr. (based on experience and skill level)

TEC Electric is hiring Electrician Helpers to support our licensed electricians on commercial and industrial construction projects in the Charlotte area.

This is a hands-on field opportunity for individuals who already have some electrical experience and want to build their skills, gain additional field experience, and grow their electrical career. You’ll work alongside experienced and licensed electricians while gaining exposure to commercial electrical installations, equipment, tools, and industry practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial electrical systems
• Assist with pulling wire, running conduit, and installing electrical components
• Measure, cut, bend, and assemble conduit under the direction of experienced electricians
• Assist with installation of electrical power, lighting, communication, security, and control systems
• Help with demolition and removal of existing electrical systems and components
• Use hand and power tools safely and properly
• Learn to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
• Maintain organized and safe work areas
• Follow jobsite safety requirements and instructions from electricians, foremen, and project leadership
• Travel as needed based on project location

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

• At least 1 year of electrical experience
• Basic understanding of electrical tools, materials, and installation practices
• Ability and willingness to learn from experienced and licensed electricians
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a field team
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with commercial electrical construction
• Commitment to following jobsite and electrical safety procedures
• Ability to pass a criminal background check

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Previous commercial construction experience
• Experience pulling wire or installing conduit
• Familiarity with electrical drawings or blueprints
• OSHA or other construction safety training
• Interest in developing a long-term career in the electrical trade
