- Assist the Food Service Supervisor and provide support of the facility’s Child Nutrition Program.
- Ensure compliance with Department’s Federal Child Nutrition Program regulations.
- Provide nutritionally adequate meals meeting the federal Child Nutrition Program meal patterns.
- Maintain required records, reports, and inventories in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Requisition food and supplies as needed.
- Maintain high standards of personal cleanliness as well as food sanitation.
- Interpret and follow standard recipes and prescribed menus, as well as specific oral and written instructions.
- Check the cost and quality of items received and ensure proper storage.
- Comply with policies and procedures of the Department.
- Assume any responsibilities designated by the Youth Development Center Food Service Supervisor II, facility business officer, facility director, the Child Nutrition Program Administrator and Child Nutrition Program Administrative Officer.
NC01 Salary Range: 31,200–46,991.
- Knowledge of the methods of preparing different types of foods in large quantities.
- Knowledge of the temperatures of various foods.
- General knowledge of the Federal Child Nutrition Program.
- Serv Safe Certification.
Work hours are Monday–Sunday. Shifts vary. Candidates must be able to work on‑call hours, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis and be able to work a variable work schedule to meet the needs of juveniles and their families.
BenefitsThis is a full‑time position (40 hours per week).
Minimum Education and ExperienceEducation and/or experience in food preparation that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade, equivalent to one year of experience in a commercial and/or institutional setting.
