Network Software Engineer

• Extend and customize nautobot for network automation and inventory management
• Design, develop and maintain Django applications and RESTful APIs
• Deploying and maintaining container solutions for new and existing applications
• Implement testing strategies with CI/CD pipeline using Git Hub Actions
• Construct and overlay network topology maps with GIS visualizations
• Candidate will be responsible for partnering with teammates to design, deliver, and support automated solutions for data and transport networks. Developers at this level manage sprint tasks with minimal supervision. They identify problems, develop solutions, and take actions to resolve. Pair program and coach developers around them.
• Effectively communicate with product owners and team members.

• Foster positive working relationships with network architects and network support to refine and implement technical, security and business requirements of increasing scope and complexity
• Demonstrate increasing competence to design, develop, release, and maintain automation offerings for data and transport networks with appropriate safeguards to bolster network reliability
• Support automated provisioning and system upgrades, configuration management of systems over time and automation orchestration
• Maintain end user and developer documentation for various offered automation solutions; lead pair programming/knowledge transfer sessions on a regular basis to keep users up‑to‑date on new products and product enhancements as well as train junior team members
• Keep abreast of new technologies, frameworks, hardware, and software to improve operational efficiency

• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile team‑based environment
• Ability to research independently, multi‑task, and meet deadlines under tight time frames
• Strong customer, quality, and results orientation
• Strong expertise in programming/scripting with Python, bash, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Django ORM and Celery
• Hands‑on experience with Nautobot
• Hands‑on of orchestration and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform
• Hands‑on experience with Git Hub Actions for CI/CD
• Experience with Linux/Unix based systems
• Proficiency in container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes

• Hands‑on experience with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, and routing protocols like BGP and OSPF
• Exposure to monitoring/observability tools and API‑driven network management
