About the roleWe are seeking a hands‑on Full Stack Engineer with strong backend expertise in Python and modern frontend experience using React. The role involves developing, optimizing, and maintaining distributed systems and APIs while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
In this role you will- Implement features across frontend (React) and backend (Python/FastAPI)
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs following best practices
- Build asynchronous backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask
- Optimize API performance, database queries, and UI components

- Contribute to system design with focus on scalability, performance, and reliability

What you need to have to be considered- Strong hands‑on experience with Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask)
- Experience with async programming using async/await
- Expertise in RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience with SQL Alchemy ORM
- Hands‑on experience with modern React using hooks
- Proficiency in JavaScript or Type Script
- Experience with state management (Redux or Context API)
- Familiarity with Material‑UI or similar component libraries
- Production experience with Postgre
SQL, including query optimization - Experience with MongoDB
- Strong SQL skills including complex queries, indexing, and schema design
- Hands‑on experience with Azure, TKGI, or PCF
- Experience with Docker containerization
- Experience with Kubernetes or EKS
- CI/CD experience using Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Git Hub Actions
- Experience working in microservices and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of system design principles and API patterns
- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications
- Familiarity with Lang Chain or other LLM orchestration frameworks
- Experience with OpenAI or similar LLM APIs
- Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j (Cypher)
- Experience with vector databases including Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector

Salary and Other CompensationThe annual salary for this position is between $83,600 – $129,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
