Lead Software Engineer - AI, Cloud Native Data Engineering (Contract)

Genesis
10 is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for a Global Financial Institution. The role involves building an AI-enabled data platform, migrating on‑premises systems to Google and Azure, and leading the design and implementation of modern data processing capabilities in an agile environment.

• Implement and operationalize modern AI-enabled data capabilities on Google Cloud to ingest, transform and distribute data for various big data applications.
• Leverage AI/Agentic frameworks to automate data management, governance and consumption capabilities—including data pipelines, data quality, metadata and compliance.
• Collaborate within a matrix organization of principal engineers, product managers and data engineers to roadmap, plan and deliver key data capabilities based on priority.

• Demonstrable recent experience using AI tools such as Lang Chain, Lang Graph/ADK, agentic frameworks, RAG, Graph
  
  RAG, and MCP to build agent-based data capabilities.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including hands‑on work with cloud data solutions: creating and supporting Spark‑based ingestion and processing.
• 3+ years of experience with data lakehouse architecture and design, including hands‑on experience with Python, PySpark, Kafka, Airflow, Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, Data Proc, Cloud Composer.
• Hands‑on experience developing data flows using Kafka, Flink, and Spark streaming.

• Experience using AI to auto‑generate data engineering code, context engineering and prompt engineering.
• Deep background on cloud‑based data lakes and warehouses and automated data pipelines.
• Public cloud certifications such as GCP Professional Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer or AWS Specialty Data Analytics.
• Web-based UI development using React and Node.js.

$43.59 – $51.59 per hour.
