Contract Length: 12 months
Pay Rate: $69/hour - $74/hour

Role Overview
We are seeking a Digital Assets Lead Software Engineer with deep FIX Protocol experience to join an award-winning Digital & Trading Technology organization. This role focuses on building and operating highly reliable, low-latency FIX-based trading and integration platforms that support modern digital wealth solutions and tokenized assets. The Lead Engineer will drive complex, enterprise-wide initiatives, establish engineering standards, and partner directly with internal teams and external counter parties to deliver scalable and secure trading connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead complex technology initiatives with broad enterprise impact.
* Design, code, test, debug, and document FIX-based integration services and APIs.
* Own the onboarding of new FIX connections, including certification, testing, and production readiness.
* Monitor and troubleshoot FIX session health, latency, and message integrity.
* Analyze logs and perform message-level debugging to resolve production issues.
* Collaborate with counter parties to resolve connectivity, mapping, and protocol issues.
* Define and influence engineering standards and best practices for large-scale technology solutions.
* Mentor other engineers and provide technical leadership across the team.
Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with the FIX protocol, including session and application layers, message structure, and session management.
* 5+ years of experience onboarding new FIX connections, including certification testing, conformance, and go-live coordination with counter parties.
* 5+ years of experience designing and building integration services and APIs.
* 2+ years of experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
* Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose FIX session issues such as sequence gaps, heartbeat failures, and message rejections.
* Strong understanding of trading workflows, including orders, executions, allocations, and confirmations.
* Experience collaborating directly with counter party technical teams to resolve connectivity and message-mapping issues.
* Understanding of networking fundamentals relevant to FIX connectivity (TCP, TLS, firewall rules).
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with .NET, trading platforms, or market data systems.
* Strong software development background in C#, Java, or Python.
* Experience with cloud-native architectures and container platforms like Kubernetes.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git Hub-based workflows, and modern developer tooling.
* Knowledge of application security practices and vulnerability scanning tools such as Sonar Qube.
* Experience with UI and E2E testing frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
* Willingness to participate in on-call or rotational production support.
Job Expectations
* This role requires the ability to work in the office in Charlotte, NC, three days per week.
