Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Lead Java Engineer to spearhead modernization initiatives, transforming legacy Cobol-based systems into scalable, cloud‑ready architectures. The role requires deep expertise in Java, Payments domain knowledge, and experience leading modernization projects in financial services.
Key Responsibilities- Legacy Modernization
- Lead migration of Cobol applications to modern Java‑based platforms.
- Define modernization strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Payments System Development
- Design and implement payment processing solutions (domestic & international).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, UPI, etc.).
- Technical Leadership
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices.
- Drive code reviews, architecture discussions, and solution design.
- Integration & APIs
- Build and integrate APIs for payment gateways, core banking, and third‑party systems.
- Ensure secure, high‑performance transaction flows.
- Performance & Scalability
- Optimize applications for high‑volume transaction processing.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and resilience strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business analysts, architects, and product owners.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong expertise in Java (Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices).
- Hands‑on experience with Cobol Modernization projects.
- Deep knowledge of Payments Domain (cards, clearing, settlement, real‑time payments).
- Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of Security Standards (PCI DSS, encryption, authentication).
- Experience with Core Banking Systems
. - Exposure to Event‑driven Architectures (Kafka, MQ).
- Knowledge of Dev Ops Practices (CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes).
- Prior leadership in Financial Services Modernization
