We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer driven by an eagerness to learn and a deep curiosity to solve complex problems. In this role, you will have end-to-end ownership of infrastructure projects, encompassing the entire infrastructure posture and ensuring a secure, reliable, and compliance-focused environment. A core part of your mission will be to mentor and guide other engineers while leveraging your expertise to identify risks, communicate technical decisions, and relentlessly pursue improvements to our production infrastructure.

HOW

WE WORK

  • Our team primarily works asynchronously via Slack and Gitlab with meetings over Zoom when high bandwidth discussion is required.
  • Our team coordinates with the engineering team to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs for feature development and developer experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

  • Participate in all stages of managing production infrastructure: system design and engineering, issue writing/breakdown, produce terraform configuration, review changes and deployments.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers through pairing, review, and active teaching to reach alignment.
  • Own the quality of your work. Deliberate and extensive system design and discussion with the team to ensure your approach and solution fits into the larger team vision and work.
  • Work across the engineering organization to identify and coordinate on solutions to improve the function of the Debt Book application and infrastructure.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Expertise and proficiency with Terraform or similar "infra as code" tooling.
  • Deep understanding of standard AWS features and offerings.
  • Significant experience with Unix-like operating systems.
  • Experience managing and optimizing Postgre

    SQL databases.
  • Good written communication and teaching skills.
  • Proficiency in Golang or Ruby is a significant plus.
GROW Continuously
  • We believe in continuous improvement, never accepting the status quo as good enough, and iterating to move quickly without compromising on quality.
  • We are energized by the fast-paced rate of change that growth demands and see new challenges as opportunities for resilience and personal development.
  • We are driven by curiosity to think creatively, innovate, and experiment, and we humbly incorporate lessons learned from success and failure along the journey.
OWN Your Outcomes
  • We hold ourselves accountable for exceptional effort, execution, reliability, professionalism, and results that add tremendous value for customers.
  • We are all individual contributors, responsible for delivering value to our customers, team, and company with every action we take.
  • As managers, we lead by example in both what we do and how we do it, and stay personally familiar with the work as we coach our teams.
  • We follow through on our decisions and commitments with action.
ABOVE & Beyond
  • We create moments of magic, surprising and delighting our customers at every touchpoint.
  • We run towards problems and enthusiastically jump in to help colleagues however we can be valuable.

We take pride in proactively doing the extra little things that set us apart, even when no one is watching.
TEAM Over Ego
  • There is no task needed at Debt Book that is beneath any of us.
  • We work hard to be the teammate others want on their team.
