Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Lead Java Engineer to spearhead modernization initiatives, transforming legacy Cobol-based systems into scalable, cloud-ready architectures. The role requires deep expertise in Java

, and experience leading modernization projects in financial services.

• Legacy Modernization
  • Lead migration of Cobol applications to modern Java-based platforms.
  • Define modernization strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Payments System Development
  • Design and implement payment processing solutions (domestic & international).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, UPI, etc.).
• Technical Leadership
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices.
  • Drive code reviews, architecture discussions, and solution design.
• Integration & APIs
  • Build and integrate APIs for payment gateways, core banking, and third-party systems.
  • Ensure secure, high-performance transaction flows.
• Performance & Scalability
  • Optimize applications for high-volume transaction processing.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and resilience strategies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with business analysts, architects, and product owners.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Strong expertise in Java (Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices).
• Hands-on experience with Cobol Modernization projects.
• Deep knowledge of Payments Domain (cards, clearing, settlement, real-time payments).
• Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of Security Standards (PCI DSS, encryption, authentication).

• Experience with Core Banking Systems
