Job Title:
Senior API Engineer / Lead Backend Engineer
We are seeking a Senior API Engineer / Lead Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that support data-intensive applications, real-time processing, and AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and high-performance APIs while providing technical leadership on large-scale initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Build and optimize real-time data services that support AI/ML and predictive analytics platforms.
- Develop microservices-based applications using modern backend technologies.
- Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Design and implement cloud-native applications using containerized environments.
- Ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability of backend systems.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical leadership for complex projects.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops best practices.
- Optimize database performance and data integration processes.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
- Strong programming experience in GoLang, Python, or Java.
- Experience building scalable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Open Shift (Open Shift preferred).
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of API design, performance tuning, and system scalability.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven experience leading projects and contributing to architectural decisions.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Big Query and/or Big Table.
- Experience with MongoDB and Redis.
- Exposure to AI/ML platforms, predictive analytics, or data engineering solutions.
- Experience with Rust or C++ is a plus.
- Prior experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers.
