Software Engineer (AI/GenAI Platforms)

Allstate’s Digital AI team is building cutting‑edge GenAI capabilities on our Unstructured Data Platform to unlock value from petabyte‑scale unstructured enterprise data. As a Software Engineer, you will help transform massive volumes of documents, voice recordings, images, and video into actionable intelligence, powerful insights, and autonomous AI systems that drive real business decisions.

• Design, develop, and maintain large‑scale data engineering, machine learning, and generative AI systems.
• Build end‑to‑end pipelines that ingest, process, and serve data for AI/ML workloads.
• Integrate AI/ML components into Java‑based enterprise services and ensure production reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prototype and launch new GenAI features.
• Monitor and troubleshoot AI and data pipelines using observability tools such as Datadog and AWS Cloud Watch.
• Apply best practices in prompt engineering, LLM fine‑tuning, and retrieval‑augmented generation.

• Python (required) for AI/ML development.
• Java experience building backend services and enterprise integrations.
• Hands‑on experience building and operating production‑grade AI/ML systems.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, distributed processing, and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with large language models, RAG, vector search, multimodal AI, AI agents, and semantic models.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM orchestration.

• Frameworks: Lang Chain, Llama Index, Semantic Kernel, Hugging Face.
• Cloud: Amazon Web Services (AWS), OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI.
• Data & Platform: Data lakes, lakehouse architectures, Kafka, event‑driven systems, MongoDB Atlas, Amazon Document DB, vector databases.
• Analytics: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Fabric, similar platforms.
• ML/AI Platforms: Amazon Sage Maker, AWS Bedrock, MLOps tooling.

• Competitive salary range: $85,000.00 – $ annually, based on experience and qualifications.
