Software Testing
Brooksource is searching for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our enterprise financial services partner in Charlotte, NC. The successful candidate will be a technically sharp developer with experience in Type Script or JavaScript and either a background or interest in software testing. This is not a traditional QA role — the right fit is someone who writes clean, maintainable code, thinks like a developer, and actively leverages AI tools to move faster and smarter.
You will work across teams, contribute to test automation frameworks, engage with Salesforce CRM integrations, and help shape how quality is built.
- 12‑month contract with strong potential for extension or full‑time conversion
- Standard business hours (Monday‑Friday)
- Business casual environment
- Charlotte, NC – Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
- W‑2 only (not compatible with C2C or 1099); must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Be an active member of a Scrum team in an SDET capacity — contributing to sprint planning, standups, and continuous delivery cycles alongside the engineering team.
- Contribute to and expand the automation testing repository for the Salesforce Lightning Omni‑Channel application, writing tests in Type Script, Playwright, Cucumber (BDD/Gherkin), and JSforce.
- Use JSforce to interact with Salesforce APIs programmatically and write optimized SOQL queries to support test data setup, validation, and debugging.
- Perform API validation and exploratory testing using tools such as Insomnia.
- Integrate and maintain test pipelines within Git Lab CI/CD, ensuring reliable and fast feedback loops for the engineering team.
- Leverage AI tools — including Claude Code and MCP server integrations — as a core part of your daily engineering workflow to accelerate development and improve output quality.
- Bring architecture ideas and propose improvements to the test automation framework to raise overall quality standards and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders across disciplines; contribute to documentation in Confluence and task tracking in Jira.
- Proactively identify automation gaps, technical debt, and quality risks — and own driving them to resolution.
