This job may also manage the design and implementation of new software development and enhancement efforts and software testing with other technologists.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Designs and develops technical solutions of new software development and enhancement efforts.
- Coordinates coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitates code reviews.
- Approves domain solutions and executes changes in line with the implementation plan.
- Liaises with Senior Leadership on project, operational, and strategy risks and opportunities, along with corrective action plans when required.
- Manages delivery on all project and operational commitments, including quality and timeliness metrics.
- Provides input into process improvements, cost reduction efforts, tool development to improve the software development and support process in a way that reduces complexity, improves service, and reduces cost.
- Understands the platform technical and business roadmap and ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the roadmap.
- Manages performance of direct reports through regular, timely feedback and the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and development.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
- Physical Requirements:

Required Skills:
- 5+ years of Java development experience (Java 17+), including architecture ownership for enterprise platforms
- 5+ years owning SDLC governance, architectural decision-making, and API security standards
- 3+ years of people management or technical leadership experience
- 3+ years owning Level 1 production support strategy for business-critical systems
- Experience monitoring and remediating vulnerabilities across production releases
Skills:
- Experience with AWS EKS and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Cloud Bees, ArgoCD)
- Experience defining governance frameworks and quality/security guardrails for AI-assisted development tools
- Financial services or insurance industry experience, particularly annuity products, recordkeeping, or accumulation ledger systems

Anticipated Posting End Date:
Base Pay Range: $137,000/yr - $200,000/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
