We are seeking an experienced Service Now Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Developer to design, develop, configure, and maintain Service Now SPM solutions. The role will work with business stakeholders, project managers, portfolio managers, architects, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable Service Now solutions that improve demand, project, resource, financial, and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities- Configure and develop Service Now Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) applications and workflows.
- Support SPM capabilities including:
- Demand Management
- Project and Portfolio Management
- Program Management
- Resource Management
- Investment Planning
- Agile Development, where applicable
- Strategic Planning and roadmaps
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
- Design solutions using Service Now best practices and approved platform standards.
- Develop and configure:
- Business rules
- Client scripts
- UI policies and UI actions
- Script includes
- Notifications
- Reports and dashboards
- Scheduled jobs
- Access controls
- Workflows and Flow Designer flows
- Build and maintain integrations between Service Now SPM and external systems using REST, SOAP, Integration Hub, MID Server, and web services.
- Create and maintain data imports, transform maps, data sources, and integration processes.
- Configure forms, tables, fields, views, layouts, related lists, and user experiences.
- Develop automated workflows for demand intake, approvals, project execution, resource allocation, financial planning, and portfolio governance.
- Configure roles, groups, permissions, user criteria, and access controls to protect sensitive portfolio and financial data.
- Support data migration, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities.
- Develop custom applications and scoped applications when required.
- Perform unit testing, system testing, regression testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, integrations, workflows, and data problems.
- Support Service Now upgrades, patches, releases, and instance maintenance.
- Follow application development lifecycle, source control, update-set, and deployment practices.
- Prepare technical specifications, configuration documents, test scripts, release notes, and support documentation.
- Collaborate with Service Now administrators, platform architects, business analysts, testers, project managers, and system owners.
- Provide production support and participate in incident, problem, and change management.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, usability, data quality, reporting, and platform performance.
- Experience developing and configuring Service Now applications, preferably with Service Now SPM
. - Strong understanding of Service Now platform architecture, tables, relationships, applications, modules, and configuration.
- Hands-on experience with Service Now scripting, including:
- Glide APIs
- Script Includes
- Business Rules
- Client Scripts
- UI Actions
- Access Controls
- Experience with Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, Integration Hub, and notification frameworks.
- Knowledge of SPM data models and processes, including demands, projects, programs, portfolios, resources, investments, and financials.
- Experience developing REST and SOAP integrations.
- Knowledge of MID Server configuration and integration troubleshooting.
- Experience with import sets, transform maps, data sources, and data migration.
- Experience creating Service Now reports, dashboards, performance analytics indicators, and operational metrics.
- Understanding of Service Now security, roles, groups, ACLs, and application access controls.
- Experience with Service Now testing and deployment practices.
- Ability to analyze requirements and produce scalable technical solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
