Junior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer / Software Engineer to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, cloud-based solutions, software services, APIs, and reporting platforms. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Python, SQL, Java, AWS, REST APIs, and GraphQL, along with an understanding of relational and non-relational databases. Develop, maintain, and support data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python, SQL, AWS, Azure, and SSIS. Extract, transform, validate, and load data across multiple systems. Support cloud-based data solutions using AWS S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, and Cloud Watch. Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and transformation logic. Support data integration across relational and non-relational databases. Assist with data modeling, data warehousing, data marts, schemas, and dimensional models.

Develop, test, and support software services using Java and Python. Develop and consume REST APIs, including authentication, JSON, HTTP methods, error handling, and documentation. Support GraphQL APIs, including schemas, queries, mutations, resolvers, and integrations. Support API integrations between internal applications, data platforms, and external services. Monitor pipelines, APIs, and applications and assist with troubleshooting. Support data quality, performance, and processing issue resolution.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI. Use Git and Git Hub for version control, collaboration, and pull requests. Participate in testing, code reviews, deployments, and production support. Document data flows, API specifications, transformation rules, and technical processes. Use approved AI-assisted development tools such as Git Hub Copilot and AI agents in accordance with security and confidentiality requirements.

Collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered. 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, application development, database development, or a related field. Working knowledge of:
Python SQL Java AWS REST APIs Basic understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data integration. Understanding of relational database concepts including tables, keys, joins, indexes, views, and normalization. Foundational knowledge of GraphQL, including schemas, queries, and mutations. Familiarity with software development practices including testing, debugging, code reviews, documentation, and version control. Familiarity with Git and Git Hub. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Hands-on experience with AWS S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, and Cloud Watch.

Experience with Microsoft Azure data services.

Experience with SSIS / SQL Server Integration Services. Familiarity with No

SQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB. Experience developing or consuming REST and GraphQL APIs. Familiarity with Postman, Swagger, or OpenAPI. Experience with Java, Spring, or Spring Boot. Experience with Tableau or Power BI. Exposure to data warehousing and dimensional modeling. Knowledge of JSON, XML, and semi-structured data. Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization, monitoring, and cloud deployment. Experience with Git Hub Copilot, AI agents, or other approved AI-assisted development tools.
