Corporate Pilot – Bombardier Challenger 350 and Gulfstream G500
Stratus Management operates under 14 CFR Part 91 in support of our company located in beautiful Spartanburg, SC — just 30 minutes north of Greenville, SC and 60 minutes south of Charlotte, NC. PositionSummary
This position supports domestic and international executive travel on the Bombardier Challenger 350, with the opportunity to qualify for the Gulfstream G500 as corporate requirements may dictate. The role requires schedule flexibility to accommodate on-demand operations. The successful candidate will serve as Captain or First Officer as assigned, reporting directly to the Chief Pilot.
The Corporate Pilot reports to the Chief Pilot or to the Director of Aviation in the Chief Pilot's absence.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe Corporate Pilot is responsible to the Chief Pilot for the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights, including but not limited to:
- Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy, registered, and that the required documentation is on board.
- Checks weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determines fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements.
- Determines the aircraft weight and balance.
- Ensures that all flight planning requirements have been met, including eAPIS.
- Ensures that aircraft crew members have valid licenses, medical certificates, passports, and visas, when required.
- Completes an aircraft pre‑flight inspection before each departure.
- Provides the Passenger Safety Briefing to passengers.
- Operates the aircraft per Stratus Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and aircraft limitations.
- Ensures compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws.
- Completes all post‑flight duties, including notifying the company of deviations to any planned itinerary, schedule, or overnight location.
- Records flight times and aircraft defects.
- Participates proactively in the Safety Management System (SMS).
- May be designated as the aircraft Point of Contact (POC), responsible for database currency, subscriptions, aircraft documentation, and assisting the Chief Pilot with type‑specific projects or issues.
- Holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license with multi‑engine rating; type rating in the Bombardier CL30 or Gulfstream GVII series preferred. Company willing to type the right candidate based on experience and a strong cultural fit.
- Possess a First-Class FAA medical certificate.
- Minimum 3,000 hours total flight time; minimum 1,500 hours Pilot in Command time.
- Minimum 2,000 hours turbine/jet time.
- International flight experience preferred.
- Experience with highly automated avionics is preferred.
