Transportation Specialist/Sr Specialist
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the transportation and logistics needs for American Airlines, ensuring cost-effective and professional handling of company materials.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate and manage all logistics activities, ensuring compliance with American Airlines transportation guidelines while fostering communication with stations, departments, carriers, and vendors.
- Support contract negotiations with freight carriers to secure favorable terms and conditions, enhancing service quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitor and assess vendor performance to ensure adherence to compliance standards and transportation guidelines.
- Report loss and damage claims and generate comprehensive reports on freight charges and services for various departments.
- Oversee budget expenses for Tech Ops departments, auditing invoices and evaluating carrier performance through scorecards.
- Conduct meetings with other departments to establish transportation guidelines for unique situations, ensuring seamless operations.
- Provide consulting and assistance to international stations, ensuring compliance with American Airlines and government regulations for shipping logistics.

Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience 3 years of experience in import/export logistics compliance and negotiations with third-party logistics providers, or equivalent shipping logistics experience.

Certifications:
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations and contract negotiation strategies.
- Experience in developing and implementing policy and procedure documentation.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Sceptre.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Familiarity with invoice auditing processes and filing claims.
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for after-hours and holiday support.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a passport.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
