Ground Handler; CLT VAR

Position: Ground Handler (CLT VAR)
The Company Modern Aviation (the “Company”) is a private equity-backed, platform company launched in 2018 that is focused on the fixed-based operator (“FBO”) sector. The Company has been rapidly growing through the acquisition of FBO locations and has significant additional committed capital from its sponsors to continue to grow the business through future acquisitions. Modern Aviation’s strategy is to acquire attractive locations and increase EBITDA at these locations through investment and operational and commercial improvements.

Primary Purpose of the position

The Ground Handler position requires an individual who understands the value of excellent customer service and the ancillary services that are provided by Modern Aviation to our customers. This position will communicate and provide the necessary resources and services to meet the customer's needs. The Ground Handler will report to the Charter Manager and will work with the complete management/supervisory team to ensure prompt responses to our customer's inquiries and requests, and to immediately notify the proper manager/supervisor in the event of any issues or concerns.

The position requires the Ground Handler to work both inside the Charter Terminal and outside on the Aircraft Parking Ramp.

Essential Functions:

Meeting, greeting, and welcoming the passengers and flight crews of customer aircraft that arrive on the aircraft parking ramp Directing the customers to the terminal facility for facility use or to meet guest's picking them up Positioning rental vehicles to meet arriving aircraft so the customer can drive themselves to their destination where applicable

Assist with the offloading of luggage/baggage

Escort customer vehicles on and off the airfield when necessary

Once the passengers are taken care of, assist the flight crews with any service needs they may require including baggage and transportation assistance

Assist the flight crews with trash removal and cleaning of the interior of the aircraft when requested

Complete any fuel, lav or water service.

During departure preparation, assist the flight crews with delivery of catering, coffee, ice, and newspapers

Follow up and ensure all fuel and service orders for departure have been completed so the aircraft can depart on time Assist with loading of luggage from the baggage carts or transportation vehicles into the aircraft

Assist fellow teammates where applicable when not servicing the customer

Thank the customers for their business and visit, welcome them back to visit again

Assist with improving Best Practices to provide Excellent Customer Service Complete any other duties assigned by Management

Skills:

Must be well organized

Must be able to multi-task throughout the shift

Must possess good communication skills including written, verbal and radio communications

Must understand the phonetic alphabet and aviation acronyms

Must maintain good working relationships with fellow teammates

Must have customer service and/or line service experience

Must have the ability to learn and understand safety procedures, including the possible hazards on the airfield

Must have the ability to learn/use various computer software and Point of Sale systems

Must be able to work well under pressure

Must have the ability to make operational decisions when necessary

Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years and have no more than 6 penalty points.

Qualifications:

Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent.

An associate degree in aviation/business related field is preferred.

Prior aviation experience is preferred.
