Material Handler
This Is What You’ll DoWe are seeking a Material Handler to assist in our new, state of the art laboratory. This lab is slated to test over 4 million samples annually. Reporting into the Plasma Storage Supervisor and Supervisor of Lab Operations, this position is responsible for the movement of plasma units throughout the dedicated warehouse facility to ensure product quality. This includes the flow of product in and out of freezer and refrigerator areas operating under severe temperatures.
AdditionalResponsibilities Of The Material Handler Role Include
- Monitors and immediately informs Plasma Storage Supervisor if equipment is not functioning properly.
- Properly store and inventory plasma units, scanning units into appropriate systems at a pallet and case level.
- Responsible for the accurate and proper receipt, storage, stocking, retrieval, and sorting of product.
- Prepare / package outbound shipments for international and domestic shipments.
- Inform Supervisor of receipt discrepancies from the donor centers for proper handling.
- Maintain proper use and maintenance of any material handling equipment, conveyors, software and automation.
Qualified candidates of this role must offer a High School diploma or equivalent. You must offer strong organizational skills with the ability to be systematic.
Other Requirements OfThe Role Include
- Minimum of two months experience in a warehouse or plasma center environment required (2 or more years of experience is preferred).
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations and be proficient in the English language.
- Ability to work intermittently in freezer conditions while wearing protective clothing.
- Ability to lift, tug, pull up to forty (40) pounds.
- Ability to manage product in excess of forty (40) pounds utilizing available safety tools.
- Ability to physically operate a computer keyboard, calculator and desktop computer.
- Ability to safely operate typical material handling equipment (forklifts, turret trucks, pallet jacks, etc).
- Formal training
