Warehouse and Operations Manager

The Warehouse/Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the

logistics of warehouse and inventory, leading the warehouse team, and

strategizing and implementing improvements throughout the Operations

Department. This is a hands-on management position. It is important to

understand that Best Impressions Caterers is a full-service catering company,

specializing in off-premise events throughout the Charlotte and extended

area. We provide the food, equipment (owned and rented), staff, etc. for all

our events. Our warehouse holds all event inventory (i.e., silverware,

• Manage warehouse team in loading and unloading trucks, setting up venue spaces in advance when applicable, and transferring equipment between venues.
• Oversee warehouse organization and inventory.
• Certify warehouse operates at peak efficiency.
• Pack/manage team to pack for each event in timely manner.
• Responsible for vendor interactions, meaning receiving and returning all equipment and confirming it arrives and leaves in the appropriate condition.
• Ensure inventory quality is maintained, repaired, and/or replaced when
• Schedule warehouse logistics & sanitation staff, planning how many people are needed and in what areas.
• Oversee the inventory stored at our venue sites in addition to the warehouse.
• Manage budget and resources based on weekly event schedule and staffing needs.
• Instigate and maintain teams to run the warehouse effectively depending on
• need in the following areas: off-site venue checks, packing/unloading, set ups,
• and cleaning dishes.
• Heavily involved in hiring process, performance improvement, and termination decisions of warehouse team.
• Conduct training of all new warehouse team members.
• Understand and assist with the schedule and upkeep of company and rental trucks.
• Routine observation and cleaning schedules for commercial dish machines
• and other large equipment to prevent future issues / damage.

Relational Role:
Answers directly to the Director of Operations. The goal for this position is to build your skills and company knowledge to be able to take on more responsibilities. In many ways, the two of you would be working in partnership to grow the department to its fullest potential.

An ideal candidate will have the experience in and ability to:

• Identify areas of improvement; strategize and enforce new plans to increase
• Understand needs and delegate tasks to a team of anywhere from 3 to 20 people in order to meet deadlines and expectations.
• Work in fast-paced environment.
• Monitor department's budget.

• Weekend availability. (Our busiest days for events are Saturdays; therefore, you will be running a team on peak Saturdays; largely the Spring/Fall. The goal is that you create a team with leaders you can rely on to help manage this responsibility as well. You won't need to work every Saturday but having the flexibility to is important.)
• A mission-oriented attitude, desire to be a hands-on, detail-oriented leader.
• Comfortable with repetition in the role. A background in the Hospitality or Food/Service Industry is a plus (not a necessity). Basic handyman skill set is a plus (not a necessity).
• Background Requirements:
• 2+ years in Warehouse/Operations management experience.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to be on your feet for a full 8-hour shift when necessary.
• 1+ year of experience in managing/building a team.

Salary will be discussed on a one-on-one basis and determined based on professional experience and character fit.
