The Role
We are seeking an Operations Supervisor in the warehouse distribution center to oversee daily operations, manage our represented workforce team, manage inventory, ensure quality control, and supervise the receiving of inbound shipments. This leadership role will be supported with on‑the‑job training, professional development, and opportunities for career growth. The role requires ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining the timeliness of shipments to our customers.

Responsibilities- Demonstrate expertise and ensure processes are performed in standardized ways.
- Motivate direct reports and/or business partners through effective communication, training, coaching, development, and recognition.
- Identify opportunities for improvement using tools such as layered audits.
- Achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost key performance indicators.
- Cultivate a safety culture and implement and enforce workplace safety rules and policies.
- Implement GMS and lean principles.
- Model GM’s cultural behaviors and always demonstrate the highest level of integrity.
- Maintain good working relationships and communicate with employees, union representatives, and management team.
- Evaluate team performance and promote continuous improvement.
- Achieve quality standards by communicating goals and leveraging resources to solve problems.
- Understand and consistently administer company policies.
- Complete administrative tasks such as timekeeping, and maintain departmental records and reports.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Train, develop, and evaluate employees.
- Keep abreast of parts distribution center/materials warehouse performance reports and costs.
- Oversee and guide department operations.
- Lead, train, and evaluate a team of union team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative environment between peers and union partners.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Willing to work 1st or 2nd shift, as determined by business needs.
- Willing to work overtime (including weekends as needed).
- Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze data.
- Organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
- Previous supervisory experience in a union environment.
- 3-5 years of experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
