Ruth's Attic Receiving Coordinator
Job SummaryThe Ruth's Attic Receiving Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely receiving and distribution of all books and merchandise for Ruth’s Attic. The role involves maintaining the stock room and dock area, receiving deliveries from vendors, reconciling shipping documents, preparing merchandise for sale, and overseeing inventory and customer orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate deliveries to the library receiving area.
- Inspect delivered items for shipping damages and complete related documentation.
- Unpack, count, and record receipt of shipped goods.
- Reconcile packing lists with invoices accurately and promptly.
- Resolve daily shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor productivity to maintain just‑in‑time inventory and efficiency.
- Prioritize tasks requiring accuracy and speed within deadlines.
- Enter merchandise information into ECR Software and price items.
- Prepare, label, pack, wrap, and ship customer orders and returns.
- Supervise audits of storeroom and stock areas and track inventory.
- Check, fill, and verify customer invoices.
- Handle customer orders and returns.
- Manage storeroom equipment properly.
- Maintain a hygienic work environment and improve space utilization.
- Communicate with supervisors, coworkers, vendors, and customers.
- Distribute materials to various library departments.
- Create and maintain an organization plan for stock room merchandise.
- Create receiving paperwork and use multiple software tools to track it.
- Serve as backup for management duties such as refunds, sales floor assistance, and bookstore coverage.
- Maintain restock of merchandise on the sales floor and organize front cabinets.
- Communicate with library departments to keep the loading dock organized.
- Check order status and obtain ship dates as directed by management.
- Assist with monthly and annual physical inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain an accurate shipping log.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High‑school education or equivalent preferred.
- Professional communication skills with staff, vendors, and BGEA affiliates.
- Good computer skills; experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficiency using workstation equipment such as walkie‑talkies, phones, and POS devices.
- Initiative with minimal supervision.
- Well‑developed organizational skills.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Knowledge of theological positions preferred.
- Moderate scope with varying activity levels.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Use of standard warehouse equipment (hand truck, cart, pallet).
- Ability to work productively under high‑stress situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing job parameters.
- Ability to maintain a positive Christian witness to colleagues and the public.
- Conventional storage, office, and retail settings.
- Handle a changing workload with frequent interruptions.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, and occasional weekends.
