This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse activities such as ensuring the efficient picking of goods, supervising staff, and managing continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintains receiving and warehousing, by coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Inputs received materials into a database system.
  • Assists warehouse associates with material movement and picking as needed during periods of high-volume activity.
  • Conducts meetings with employees to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and coordination of personnel schedules.
  • Manage employee performance through KPIs and performance management actions.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, scheduling equipment maintenance and issuing work orders for equipment repair.
  • Lead 5S initiatives, including meetings, strategic planning and activities.
  • Manage training program, including new hire and cross training activities.
  • Ensure orders are issued and prioritized appropriately.
  • Utilize SAP to monitor and investigate inventory discrepancies and escalate adjustments needed.
  • Support new employees with systems and equipment access through partnership with IT.
  • Regularly audit product quality and shipment accuracy.
  • Lead and participate in RRCA investigations and implement corrective action measures.
  • Supports physical inventory as needed.
  • Supports escalation as needed for all shifts.
  • Provides coverage for other leadership roles as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in a warehouse environment required.
  • Experience in SAP, Microsoft Office systems required.
  • Experience in Inventory Control management preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to serve in a leadership position and direct others through instruction and by example.
  • Ability to work well with others – including all supervisors and managers in all departments and on all shifts.
  • Ability to plan and make provisions several days in advance.
  • Attention to detail and quality in a fast-paced industrial setting.
  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of the Con Met wheel end products line.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions.
  • Ability to follow verbal directions from management and all policies and procedures implemented by Con Met.
  • Forklift license is required.

  • Con Met Shipping & Receiving personnel, multiple plants.
  • Contracted and non-contracted Freight Carriers
  • Customer Service

Environmental & Physical Demands

  • Duties are split between an office environment and the warehouse floor.
  • Occupational exposure to fumes and dust is regularly encountered. Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed, industrial footwear is required at all times.
  • Warehouse environment may include exposure to changes in outside climates.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 lbs. and occasionally heavier.
