The Item Master Data Specialist is responsible for handling the purchases of goods and services, including managing vendor relationships and processing payments. The role involves product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management, and requires reporting of data to internal and external customers based on active contracts for the Health System.
Responsibilities- Assist in coordinating the collection, maintenance, analysis, and distribution of contract information used in order placement and reporting.
- Assist in data entry and ensure data accuracy in order to meet established deadlines and goals.
- Compare People Soft and NuVia contract information and maintain data files contained therein.
- Work closely with internal staff and vendors in analyzing and resolving data accuracy issues to maintain data integrity.
- Back up to review and approve NuVia recommendations to the People Soft interface.
- Assist in uploading contract GHX templates into the GHX Contract Center.
- Compare contract GHX templates to current PS Item Master to ensure all information is updated accordingly, and address any additional information or issues.
- Assist in maintaining statistics and conducting market research.
- Track progress against planned goals and requirements of the contracts.
- Use data to make recommendations for greater impact and organizational efficiency.
- Participate as a team member and be accountable for own work responsibilities.
- Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Experience:
1 year of relevant experience in a health care setting - Licensure:
None required
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive desktop computer use.

The starting base rate for this role is $24.50 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
