The Department of OBGYN is seeking an Administrative Generalist/Coordinator to join our team in support of our expanding clinical, research, education and community missions. Our growing department currently supports over 50 clinical faculty in clinical care across the State of Virginia, the 20 OBGYN residents, 2 fellowships, and medical student learners.
Responsibilities- Provide professional‑level administrative support across multiple divisions, including clinical scheduling and meeting coordination.
- Manage faculty appointments, faculty affairs correspondence, and promotion and tenure processes in collaboration with the School of Medicine; attend related meetings.
- Support the Department’s financial operations, including expense report processing and invoicing for outreach sites through Workday Finance.
- Assist with process improvement projects, including PDSA cycles, data collection, project tracking, and action‑item management.
- Analyze operational data and generate reports to support strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts.
- Advise division and department leadership on administrative matters, operational needs, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and workflow across assigned functions.
- Serve as a departmental representative at meetings and participate in collaborative initiatives as needed.
- Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the evolving needs of the Department.
Administrative Coordinator, Administrative Operations Professional 1
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree required. - Experience:
3+ years of relevant experience.
Administrative Generalist, Administrative Operations Professional 2
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree required. - Experience:
4+ years of relevant experience.
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The position does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
Additional Requirements- Background checks and pre‑employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment.
