The University of Virginia Department of Mathematics is seeking a reliable and professional Administrative Assistant to provide front-office and administrative support. This position serves as a key point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Administrative Assistant will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department through a variety of administrative and customer service responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors.
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
- Assist with key checkout and tracking procedures.
- Provide visitor parking information and permits when needed.
- Support faculty, staff, students, and visitors with administrative requests.
- Maintain office records, files, and departmental resources.
- Assist with departmental events, seminars, and special projects.
- Perform other administrative and office support duties as assigned.
Anticipated dates of employment: after classes begin on August 25, 2026 through the end of the academic year, May 14, 2027
Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Work location:
Kerchof Hall front office (in-person position)

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
