We are actively seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented MEP Superintendent to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of our commercial construction projects. This key role as Superintendent will ensure that all MEP systems are installed correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, local codes, and safety standards. The MEP Superintendent will work closely with the project team, clients, customers, vendors and inspectors to deliver high‑quality, on‑time, and on‑budget construction results.
EssentialFunctions
- Oversee commercial construction projects as Superintendent and supervise field Foremen on ground‑up MEP projects (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing)
- Provide guidance and direction to crews in budgeting and scheduling. Ensure production numbers are being reached and forecast what it will take to complete the phase codes
- Ensure job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every project stage
- Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment
- Perform a wide range of skilled construction tasks
- Act as liaison with engineering, estimating, and project teams to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and scheduling
- Coordinate with other departments (Quality Control and Engineering) to ensure all required materials and equipment, inspections, and support craft activities are available
- Resolve problems in a variety of construction issues, including productivity monitoring, craft compliance with project safety program requirements, documenting and implementing corrective action
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ensure a safe work environment; foreman conduct work with crews safely; coordinate safety on site
- Ensure foremen understand trade‑specific schedules and goals by reviewing 2‑week look‑aheads and setting up weekly meetings to review as a whole
- Ensure foremen have material ordered and staged for crews
- Hold crews accountable for keeping AXIOM updated with daily production reports and look‑aheads
- Ensure trades track at or better than estimate using AXIOM as a guide
- Understand the project job cost to review with PM, PC, other Superintendents and Foreman
- Contract obligations, inclusions and exclusions
- Pre‑POC forecast due the week before monthly POC meeting
- Assist in projection of labor
- Understand and review projection metric goals with PM and foremen
- Drawing review
- VDC interaction and coordination during drafting
- VDC reviews & coordination of team meetings
- Weekly fabrication meeting with fabrication manager and updates for pre‑fabrication
- Schedule reviews and confirm areas available for installation
- Manpower management and projections
- Equipment release review with PM and confirm equipment counts
- Ensure proper resources (tools, rental equipment, materials) are on the project when needed
- Engage foremen teams with planning for efficiency
- Create a positive work environment
Yes
Required- 7+ years previous experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, General Foreman and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Ability to successfully supervise large crews (20+)
- Prior experience supervising large teams as Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or General Foreman
- Previous knowledge of man‑hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimating
- Advanced understanding of construction cost control, forecasting and setting goals
