Hillcrest Dental is a GROWING PRIVATE family-friendly dental practice in Charlottesville, VA (). We are currently seeking a professional
* Front Office Coordinator (FOC)* . This position is not a remote position and is considered full-time (Monday-Thursday, with occasional Fridays). Previous dental front office experience is strongly preferred; however, Hillcrest Dental will train those who have been employed as a dental assistant, dental insurance/treatment coordinator. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and accurate attention to detail.
In addition, the FOC will maintain a high level of confidentiality, enjoy working in a team environment and provide outstanding service to our patients.
This position chiefly entails the non-clinical administrative tasks associated with patient care, as shown below:
Job Duties include but are not limited to;
Greet patients in a courteous and warm manner as they arrive to the office
Ensure exceptional patient service through phone and personal interactions—answering questions and referring patients to the appropriate team member, always meeting patient needs
Dental Insurance:Verification of patient dental insurance coverage
Comprehend and apply benefit information
Communicate patient benefits to the patient and staff
Submission of dental claims daily
Follow up with outstanding claims
Patient Scheduling & BillingAnswer multi-line phone system
Enter patient data into dental practice management software (Open Dental)
Check patients in and out, collect required paperwork
Scheduling appointments
Collecting patient payments
Review patient account ledger and answer billing questions
Knowledge and Skill Requirements :Communication:
The Front Office Coordinator shall demonstrate effective written/verbal communications. The FOC will understand dental procedures, insurance billing, coding and processing of claims.
Equipment Usage:The Front Office Coordinator shall have exceptional computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office and dental practice software – Open Dental preferred.
CPR, Radiology, OSHA, HIPAA:The Front Office Coordinator shall be able to remain informed and updated on OSHA & HIPAA regulations and follow Virginia Board of Dentistry regulations.
Education, Certification/License and Experience Requirement:High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
One (1) year of previous experience in a dental office is required.
