Hygienist Job in Charlottesville, VA

Blue Jay Dental seeks a registered dental hygienist. Job responsibilities include assessing dental condition and needs of patients, delivering direct patient care, taking patient vital signs, performing routine treatment procedures, taking radiographs, applying sealants and fluorides, electronic record keeping, documenting patient dental history, teaching patients how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, completing treatment plans as prescribed by the dentist, reviewing and explaining treatment plans and fees with patients, articulating and expressing patient concerns to the dentist, and serving as the primary treatment coordinator.

Ancillary duties as needed.

Qualifications include being reliable, having a completed dental hygiene certificate program or associates degree in dental hygiene and a current hygienist license for the state of North Carolina, demonstrating independent thinking and good judgment, demonstrating teamwork approach, demonstrating initiative, dependability and promptness, performing frequent repetitive work with attention to detail, being flexible and accepting different work assignments with a positive approach, following instructions and taking responsibility for own actions, exercising confidentiality with patients and patient care, reading and interpreting documents, and interpreting a variety of instructions.
