The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks a full-time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our growing academic team at the Assistant Professor level.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a clinician-educator who is passionate about delivering high-quality pediatric mental health care within a nationally recognized academic medical center while contributing to teaching, mentorship, and scholarly growth.
Position OverviewThe selected candidate will provide outpatient child and adolescent psychiatric care within UVA Health s integrated clinical system. This role offers the opportunity to practice in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to advancing evidence-based care for children, adolescents, and families.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across UVA Health
Participate in clinical supervision and teaching of psychiatry residents, fellows, and medical students
Contribute to departmental academic initiatives, with opportunities for research and scholarly activity
Provide services in-person, via telepsychiatry, and at affiliated clinical sites as needed
Participate in shared call coverage, including nights and weekends
MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry at time of hire
Completion of fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry strongly preferred
Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia
