The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applicants for the role of Director of Undergraduate Admissions (DUA). The DUA is a dynamic, engaging, and team-oriented member of the McIntire community who represents and promotes academic programs to prospective students and families. The DUA leads all facets of the McIntire Office of Undergraduate Admission, which include: creating and managing the undergraduate admissions recruiting and advising strategy, including leadership of first year experience programs;
oversight of both the internal and external transfer admission processes; directing the work of all Undergraduate Admissions team members; and collaborating with School leadership on the undergraduate admission process within the greater University and national/international business school landscape. This role is not limited solely to this position description but involves collaborating and contributing in a team environment to provide the highest level of service possible, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Working alongside administrative and academic leadership within the School, the McIntire Office of Undergraduate Admission is responsible for all facets of undergraduate recruitment and admission. This includes planning and executing information sessions and presentations; recruiting and advising prospective Commerce students throughout the academic year; facilitating internal and external admissions processes for the B.S. in Commerce; providing internal admissions and advising for McIntire-sponsored minor degree programs;
and engaging with a broad constituency to market and promote undergraduate academic programs position requires the availability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as necessary.

The McIntire School of Commerce is nationally recognized as one of the premier undergraduate business programs in the United States. The Bachelor of Science in Commerce is a distinctive three-year program, preceded by one year of coursework completed at another school within the University before students matriculate into McIntire. Admission is highly selective, with students applying at the conclusion of their first year.
ResponsibilitiesOffice of Undergraduate Admission Leadership
- Provide leadership and strategic direction setting for all undergraduate admission-related services offered at McIntire.
- Supervise and lead Admissions team members.
- Develop strategic marketing, recruitment, and operational plans annually and collaborate with internal marketing units to execute plans.
- Oversee the implementation and effective utilization of technology and software solutions to improve and manage all admission and recruitment efforts.
- Serve as key contact with University constituents related to all recruiting and yield events, public inquiries and questions regarding admission to the B.S. in Commerce program. Including fielding student and parents' post-admission inquiries after a competitive admission process.
- Advise prospective students; ensure quality and consistency of advising through continual assessment and training of Admissions team members.
- Collaborate with School leaders and pan-University minor leaders on developing admission procedures, processes, and policies for students.
- Facilitate the creation and deployment of all strategic communication and marketing collateral in collaboration with the McIntire Marketing and Communication functional area, including continual updates to McIntire's Admission website.
- Manage all facets of the Commerce Cohort Program (first year experience program), including recruitment, selection, advising, and mentorship of student mentors; serve as a primary instructor/facilitator for all courses associated with the program; facilitate all marketing and promotional activities; participate in fundraising initiatives; steward the Commerce Cohort Near Peer Mentors; oversee reporting and data related to student success.
- Chair the Undergraduate Admission Committee.
- Oversee the internal admission process and manage the support of the Admission Committee.
- Communicate admissions process information with internal and external constituents as appropriate and necessary.
- Serve as the key point of contact for the UVA Office of Undergraduate Admission in all stages of the admission cycle, including initial and second readings and offers.
