Temporary position for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year only. Not benefits-eligible.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate with endorsement in School Counseling. More information can be found on the VDOE website.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Responsible for providing psychological services and crisis intervention, and performing other duties as assigned.

  • Conducts comprehensive psycho educational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, social/emotional, and behavioral functioning for educational disability identification
  • Prepares comprehensive psychological reports with practical recommendations to support IEP or intervention planning
  • Provides psycho educational consultation to teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents
  • Provides counseling as a related service for students with an IEP and/or brief individual and group counseling
  • Serves on pre-referral intervention teams (SBIT/MTSS) and other committees; may chair eligibility committees
  • Participates in data-based decision-making teams (IEP, Section 504, MDR, Threat Assessment, etc.)
  • Maintains accurate records of psychological services and adheres to laws and ethics; acts as an advocate for students and parents
  • Assists with in-service programs related to child behavior, development, and preventative mental health
  • Supervises psychology interns and practicum students as assigned
  • Acts as liaison with clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and mental health agencies
