Position OverviewThe Middle School Theology teacher will teach courses that introduce students in grades 6 through 8 to the academic study of Scripture and the foundations of Christian belief. Course content includes a theological survey of the Old and New Testaments, designed to help students develop biblical literacy, theological understanding, and a growing capacity to reflect thoughtfully on their faith.
We are seeking an educator who enjoys working with adolescents and who can establish an orderly, respectful, and intellectually vibrant classroom. The Theology teacher approaches this work with both intellectual seriousness and care for students’ formation, helping students grow in understanding while honoring their developmental stage. Through clear instruction, thoughtful discussion, and attentive guidance, students are invited to ask meaningful questions and to see how Christian faith shapes one’s understanding of God, the world, and what it means to be human.
In keeping with the school’s mission, the teacher integrates Christian faith naturally and thoughtfully into instruction, modeling a life of faith while honoring the academic study of theology and Scripture.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree required
- Proven experience teaching middle school students preferred
- Ability to integrate Christian faith authentically and thoughtfully in the context of teaching
