Elementary Teacher (Math Intervention) – Woodbrook Elementary School – 2026-27 School Year
Woodbrook Elementary School – Charlottesville, VA. Starting date:
Aug 3, 2026.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers to assess individual and collective needs in math instruction.
- Utilizes student data and classroom assessments to inform instructional strategies.
- Provides feedback to teachers on effective math strategies, scaffolded instruction, and assessment techniques.
- Provides feedback to teachers and PLCs to enhance teaching practices.
- Guides teachers in interpreting student data and adapting instructional approaches to address specific student needs.
- Reviews progress toward goals with teachers and adjusts strategies as needed.
- Assists in the implementation of the comprehensive and research‑based curriculum.
- Works with teachers to align curriculum materials with state standards.
- Brings the latest research and pedagogy in the field of mathematics to PLC meetings.
- Attends regular PLC meetings where teachers can share successes, challenges, and strategies for improving outcomes.
- Encourages collaborative problem‑solving and the exchange of best practices among educators.
- Fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Conducts thorough assessments to identify students' mathematical strengths and areas for improvement.
- Utilizes diagnostic tools and assessments to identify specific needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Designs and implements targeted evidence‑based interventions.
- Provides targeted instruction through small group or one‑on‑one interventions.
- Provides instruction that aligns with students' assessed needs.
- Monitors progress and adjusts interventions and instructional strategies accordingly, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to share progress updates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Virginia teaching certificate or eligibility with endorsement in Math Specialist.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
