Job DescriptionServe as a Special Education Teacher Generalist for the 2026‑27 school year at Mountain View Upper Elementary School.
Responsibilities- Teach and lead inclusive classroom instruction for students with severe or profound disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, specialists, and administrators.
- Provide ongoing assessment and progress monitoring, adjusting instruction to meet student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, instructional coaches, and equity specialists to promote culturally responsive teaching.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for teachers and specialists on instructional practices and equity initiatives.
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching certificate with endorsement in Special Education.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Experience with students with severe or profound disabilities preferred.
- Strong content knowledge, instructional practices, and commitment to equity.
