Job OverviewAlbemarle County Public Schools is hiring an Assistant Principal for Woodbrook Elementary School for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role involves supporting the school principal in providing instructional leadership, ensuring equity and inclusion, fostering a positive school culture, and working with students, staff, families, and the community.
Responsibilities- Support the principal in instructional planning, curriculum implementation, and student achievement.
- Lead programs and practices that promote equity, inclusion, and the removal of achievement gaps.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, families, and community partners to create a safe and welcoming learning environment.
- Participate in staff professional development and data‑driven decision making.
- Model and enforce school policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Current Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PK‑12 (or eligible by June 30 2026).
- At least five years of teaching experience.
- Innovative, reflective, and collaborative leadership skills and knowledge of instructional best practices.
- Passion for closing equity and achievement gaps and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities with students, families and staff.
- Strong instructional support and mentoring from central office administrators, coaches, technology integrators, diversity resource teachers, and equity specialists.
