Job Overview

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) seeks an adjunct faculty member in the English discipline to teach developmental and college‑level courses, including distance‑learning instruction. The position may include teaching at any PVCC location, including the Giuseppe Center and correctional facilities in Fluvanna, Buckingham, and Dillwyn.

• Teach English courses on a semester‑by‑semester basis, including face‑to‑face and remote instruction as required.
• Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and assessments that align with the curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and course documentation.
• Participate in department meetings, faculty activities, and professional development opportunities.
• Assist with correctional education programs as needed.

• Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English;
  Ph.D. preferred.
• Two years of teaching experience, including experience with online instruction.
• Demonstrated expertise in English composition, literature, or related disciplines.
• Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach diverse student populations and work in a community college environment.
