Role Overview
University of Virginia, School of Architecture, seeks to fill non‑tenure‑track instructional Lecturer positions for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Specialized subject areas include Studio, Seminar, Lecture, Intensive Short Course, Visualization, and/or Workshop, at undergraduate or graduate level.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in the specified specialized subject areas.
- Organize guest lectures and course‑specific advising.
- Develop or review curricula, guide students in research papers, and grade assignments.
- Lead field trips and other instructional activities as needed.
Applicants must have a master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant field.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, with preference given to those with prior university‑level teaching experience.
The qualified candidate should demonstrate professional and/or academic expertise in the specialized subject area and provide evidence of teaching ability that enables students to achieve the goals and learning outcomes of the program.
Minimum Requirements- Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field required.

- Licensure: None.
Compensation will take the form of wages paid on a bi‑weekly pay cycle. This is an at‑will faculty wage position, not eligible for leave or other employee benefits, and limited to 1,500 hours of work in a year. Faculty wage appointments are subject to change based on funding and course enrollment and carry no expectation of renewal.
Physical DemandsThis is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of a desktop computer. The position occasionally requires walking some distance to attend meetings and programs.
