Job Description Overview
This job profile is only for faculty members hired to complete a short‑term and/or part‑time academic work assignment, such as teaching one or more courses for one or two academic terms.
The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applicants for one or more part‑time (up to .33 FTE), faculty wage (non‑tenure eligible) Marketing faculty positions for the 2026‑2027 academic year.
ResponsibilitiesThe faculty member will teach 1.5–7.5 credit hours during the 2026‑2027 academic year, primarily Principles of Marketing, with additional teaching as needed based on instructional needs.
Qualifications- A master’s degree in Business or a closely‑related field is required; a Ph.D. in a relevant field is preferred.
- Relevant industry or educational experience is required; previous teaching experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaborative team skills and the desire to work in a dynamic environment that stresses teamwork, innovation, and student‑centered learning is required.
- Selected candidate will be required to complete a background check at the time of the offer per University Policy.
- Physical Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
