This is a three-year, tenure-ineligible appointment without the possibility of renewal. (This is a non-renewable appointment.)
** Minimum Qualification*
* To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, applicants should hold an MA in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field at the time of appointment.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* The successful applicant will preferably hold a PhD in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field, or an MFA in Creative Writing at the time of appointment. Also, successful applicants will have experience teaching first-year writing courses, using an inquiry-based approach, as well as introductory literature courses or introductory creative writing courses. This teaching experience should be at the college level.

Cover letter of interest that includes a summary of your teaching interests and experience, and demonstrated experience relevant to the University's ambition to cultivate the most vibrant community in higher education in order to prepare students to be leaders in a diverse and globally connected world.

A statement of teaching philosophy (one-page single spaced maximum).
4.
One first-year writing syllabus with weekly schedule.
Candidates chosen for interviews will be asked to provide the following: (1) one syllabus with weekly schedule from either an introductory course in literature or an introductory course in creative writing; and (2) three writing assignment sheets or writing prompts (two should be from the first-year writing course and the other should be from the other course whose syllabi you share).
