- Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. We are seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members in the following teaching disciplines and/or subject areas:

ELECTRONICS/MANUFACTURING The adjunct professor will be responsible for teaching electronics and manufacturing courses in a hands-on experiential format. Professor will have knowledge and application of electronic devices, current microcontrollers, mechanical processes and machinery, and basic communication protocols. Students in these classes build on fundamental electronics and manufacturing skills to troubleshoot, design, and build different projects related to the course material. The instructor will be responsible for making sure the projects focus on industry skills and the materials are provided for students in a timely manner.

Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.

Skills & Abilities:

Ability to create positive classroom/lab culture that provides foundational knowledge for electronics and manufacturing courses

Teach in a hands-on, experiential format

Knowledge of a basic microcontrollers

Knowledge of programming languages and how to troubleshoot

Create open-ended problems for students to solve creatively

Classroom management of lab-based classrooms, including maintaining equipment and supplies

Work with students in a diverse environment with a sensitivity to all…
