Work Schedule
- Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis. as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.

Job Description
- Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).

PVCC is nationally recognized for its outstanding transfer curriculum; its relationship with its neighbor, the University of Virginia; and its Workforce Development Programs serving local employers. The position may include teaching at any PVCC location, including the Giuseppe Center in Greene County and correctional facilities in Fluvanna, Buckingham, and Dillwyn Applications will be received and considered on a continuous basis, as openings occur.

We are seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members in the following teaching disciplines and/or subject areas: ENGLISH If you are interested in a unique challenge, PVCC will expand credit course offerings in English Composition and Literature for incarcerated students at Fluvanna Correctional Center, Buckingham Correctional Center, and Dillwyn Correctional Center. Please note in your cover letter and/or application that you are specifically interested in teaching a course at one of the prison sites.

Special Assignments
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
- The successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English

Additional Considerations
- Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with on-line teaching. Ph.D. in English
