Lower School Teacher; Kindergarten-5th Grade

The Covenant School is an independent Christian liberal arts and sciences school located in Charlottesville, Virginia, serving over 750 students from Pre‑K through Grade 12.

Lower School teachers at The Covenant School play a central role in laying the foundations of a Christian liberal arts education. We seek educators committed to the holistic formation of children who approach teaching with joy and purpose. Teachers introduce students to habits of attention, wonder, and disciplined learning while providing clear structure, consistent expectations, and age‑appropriate academic challenge.

Teachers integrate Christian faith naturally and thoughtfully into daily classroom life, fostering an environment where students encounter the goodness, truth, and beauty of God’s creation. They support the growth and flourishing of every child through careful instruction, meaningful relationships, and shared responsibility within the life of the school.

We are currently accepting applications for Kindergarten through Grade 5 classroom teachers. Each grade level has three sections of students, and teachers collaborate closely as part of a grade‑level team.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Teaching certification required.
• One to two years of teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to integrate Christian faith authentically and thoughtfully in the context of teaching.
