Job OverviewThe school division seeks an English Language Arts teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. This position requires teaching and educational leadership for grades 7 and 8 within a supportive, community‑oriented environment.
ResponsibilitiesTeach, lead, and inspire students’ learning in English Language Arts, incorporating culturally responsive instruction and engaging curriculum aligned with state standards. Collaborate with administrators, instructional coaches, and peers to implement the district’s Anti‑Racism policy and equity initiatives.
Ideal Candidates- Innovative, self‑reflective, and collaborative educators experienced in middle‑school content and instructional practices.
- Passionate about closing equity and achievement gaps.
- Prepared to engage with Culturally Responsive Teaching and the district’s Equity Mission Statement.
Candidates must hold or be eligible for the Virginia teaching certificate with endorsement to teach Language Arts at the middle‑school level (Grades 7 & 8).
