The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Leadership, Organizational Behavior, and Communication area beginning in Fall 2027. Candidates at all ranks are encouraged to apply; however, we are especially interested in early-career scholars, including recent graduates and advanced assistant professors.
The ideal candidate is a scholar committed to rigorous, original research with strong implications for managers and organizations. Applicants should demonstrate that they have begun to publish in respected peer-reviewed journals and have a pipeline of working papers with potential for future publication.
The ideal candidate should also be interested in the education and intellectual development of students, which are achieved at the Darden School through student-centered instruction, the creation of high-quality teaching materials, and engagement with practicing managers. Advanced assistant professors must demonstrate evidence that they have successfully developed effective teaching skills, including the ability to effectively teach large enrollment classes. Although prior experience with the case method is not expected, we are especially interested in candidates who are intellectually curious about this approach and are committed to developing expertise as case-method instructors.
