The Opportunity

CACI has an exciting opportunity for a Threat Systems Analyst-Modeler to support the engineering analysis and weapons effects of foreign explosive munitions. We need experts to support the technical exploitation of foreign systems and subcomponents for current and future technology.

We assess scientific and technical capabilities, forecast and predict future capabilities and battlefield effectiveness, and create high‑fidelity models and simulations of systems.

Join our team as we drive all‑source collection, apply research, and deliver highly technical, all‑source finished intelligence on emerging and disruptive technologies helping our customers to assess current threats and forecast future threats on some of the nation’s most challenging missions.

You will conduct research to define the characterization and performance of various explosive munitions, develop model test matrices and assess model performance characteristics throughout their lifecycle. Additionally, you will be a key contributor and collaborator for each model’s verification and validation process, ensuring model performance is in line with advertised capability and author threat assessments. Document findings in modeling tools, databases, and written assessments.

You will work daily across several intelligence branches to define testing parameters to meet system analyst’s needs, requiring a working knowledge of threat munition terminal effects and accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of the customer, provide analysis of weapons effects using specified computational modeling tools (WASP, CTH, etc.).
  • Weapons effects modeling of shoulder fired anti‑tank, anti‑personnel, and thermobaric munitions, and grenade munitions, delivered via under‑barrel, precision, and automatic launcher systems, or thrown with the goal of improving an understanding of threat explosive hazards terminal effects.
  • Provide expertise and understanding in threat munition terminal effects, specifically accuracy, heat pressure, fragmentation, and penetration on U.S. or foreign materiel or programs.
  • Conduct open source and intelligence research into capabilities and development of indirect‑fire munitions weapons effects.
  • Develop all‑source assessments, RFIs, briefings, and data in compliance with established IC tradecraft requirements, specifically ICD 203 and ICD 206.
  • Input relevant data into customer databases and contribute to intelligence products (Based on model performance and results).
Qualifications
  • This position requires a minimum of a Top‑Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or comparable STEM disciplines will be considered for applicants with operational engineering‑based military or industry experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in 3D modeling.
  • Experience in Verification and Validation of models.
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis or hydrocode.
  • Understanding of fluid‑dynamic, thermodynamics or shock physics.
  • Experience in explosive design and/or testing, including arena testing, is a plus.
  • Intelligence Community (IC) background is preferred but not required.
