- Description Leidos Dynetics is seeking a motivated, detailed-oriented problem-solver to join our modeling and simulation team as an Aerospace Modeling and Simulation Engineer in Charlottesville, VA. You will play a valuable part in developing and testing models of aerospace systems, to include air-launched weapons; ballistic missile systems; avionics; hypersonic vehicles; and guidance, navigation, and controls across a wide range of projects and programs.

Primary Responsibilities
* Develop, integrate, and test models of aerospace systems based on provided information, research, and engineering principles.

* Document model performance against requirements.

* Document algorithm design.

* Work collaboratively with an engineering team comprised of internal and external team members.

* Interact with external stakeholders to define requirements and perform model demonstrations.

* Candidate must be local to or willing to relocate to the Charlottesville, VA area. Basic Qualifications
* Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 4+ years applicable experience (or M.S. with 2+ years)

* Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a Secret Clearance with the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Top Secret Clearance.

* Experience with 3

DOF/6

DOF flight models

* Experience with modeling missile systems

* Experience in MATLAB/Simulink

* Detailed understanding of the systems engineering process for aerospace systems

* Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

* Ability to travel when needed by the program

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with ballistic missiles, air-launched missiles, or hypersonic vehicles

* Experience in C++ or Python

* Experience with configuration management tools such as SVN and Git

* Experience integrating and testing GNC algorithms

* Experience in ITASE or AFSIM
