Civil Project Engineer II/III

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III
- Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in our Charlottesville, VA office location.
Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis;
- Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation;
- Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems;
- Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work;
- Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates
- Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties
- Communicate with client staff and internal design team; and
- Communicate results/recommendations to the general public.
Skills/requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- Ideal candidates would have between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning
- Synchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essential
- Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred
- Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal project experience preferred
- Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge preferred
- Experience working with DOT and/or localities; and
- PE/EIT preferred.
Compensation:
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$90,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
