Overview
The Sr Financial Analyst is a financial accounting generalist position with extensive experience in finance and accounting as it relates to health care operations and financial accounting. This role focuses on fixed asset accounting and other general accounting areas, requiring strong analytical skills, solid knowledge of internal controls, a process-improvement mindset, and advanced Excel. The position provides a data source and interface between traditional back-office Finance/IT areas and operational and back-office financial accounting teams.
Individual contributors with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty work primarily on designing, implementing, or delivering processes, programs, and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education.
Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to business process planning related to Patient Financial Services and Back-Office Accounting, including existing, new, and expansion assessments.
- Develop financial and internal control process plans and documents for the Controller's Office and Patient Financial Services.
- Serve as a resource for the Controller's Office and Patient Financial Services in developing business processes, including documentation of procedures; internal control review and compliance with ARMICS; analysis of current operational processes; collaboration with revenue cycle, reimbursement, and cost accounting elements.
- Communicate process development, status, and implementation to ensure clear understanding.
- Ensure complete preparation for process implementation of procedures within the Controller's Office, Cashiering, and Patient Financial Services functions and related information systems.
- Apply working knowledge of Hyperion and People Soft to analyze, create, and interpret data and financial reports; assess data limitations and strengths; communicate findings to Administrators and Managers; complete ad hoc analytical reports; tailor data queries for specific issues; formulate analyses to reflect available information; and use standard or customized reporting formats as appropriate.
- Examine processes for elimination, consolidation, improvement, or other changes to enhance financial performance, internal controls, and analytics.
- Support budgeting processes for Operating and Capital budgets; assist Administrators and Managers in budget development, data requirements, reporting formats, and adherence to schedules; design budget processes and tools; ensure timely budget development and data analysis; assess opportunities for process improvement.
- Coordinate capital budget requests, including new versus replacement investments, lease versus purchase analyses, and asset management coordination.
- Develop and document workflow processes between Patient Friendly Billing, Cashiering, and Cash Posting to ensure daily/monthly reconciliation, appropriate segregation of duties, and internal controls across back-office areas; interface with external vendors managing accounts receivable outside of EPIC (e.g., Inmar, Reimbursement Concepts).
- Support the financial, budgeting, and reporting needs for related departments to include monthly close, year-end processes, and budgeting.
In addition to the above responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience: 7 years of relevant experience
- Licensure: CPA preferred
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Some travel to attend meetings and programs may be required.
Salary

The starting base rate for this role is $62,691.00 annually. Compensation will be determined by qualifications, experience, and/or education.
