Principal Program Cost Control Analyst (PCA) at Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems, responsible for cost reporting and analysis for Inertial Navigation programs within the Maritime Systems & Integration Operating Unit, located onsite in Charlottesville, VA, with a 9/80 work schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Interface with program managers, functional management, cost account managers, and business managers to provide financial support and analysis.
- Prepare budgets and schedules for contract work; assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor costs and schedules using a validated cost schedule control system and perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks such as Work Breakdown Structure development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis, and visibility reports.
- Prepare reports to ensure contracts remain within negotiated parameters and government cost control guidelines; maintain records of expenditures and prepare expenditure projections.
- Submit timely requests for additional funding; support audits, reviews, Annual Operating Plan, Resource Plan, and Long Range Strategic Plan activities.
- Prepare financial inputs for internal and external reports and presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related professional experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of related professional experience.
- Experience with financial systems including cost performance reporting and analysis.
- Experience with Earned Value Management and performance measurement baseline concepts.
- Strong PC skills, especially Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance.
- Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.
- Will consider 9 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience with COBRA, COGNOS, SAP.
- Current active U.S. Government Secret level security clearance.
